The People’s Assembly Against Austerity

Dear Friend,

The People’s Assembly wishes to express our deepest sadness at the passing of Tony Benn last night, and send our condolences to his family and friends.

Tomorrow, at the People’s Assembly National Recall Conference, we will be paying special tribute to Tony Benn, who dedicated his life to campaigning for justice and peace. Tony helped to launch the People’s Assembly and had been a supporter throughout. See his speech at our launch conference here: http://www.thepeoplesassembly.org.uk/rip_tony_benn

A special tribute will also be given to Bob Crow with a message from his family and speech by a member of the RMT. Bob Crow, who passed away tragically on Tuesday, was General Secretary of the RMT and a tireless campaigner for the rights of working people. You can leave a message of condolence for Bob on here: http://www.rmt.org.uk/bob-crow/

All are welcome to join us at conference tomorrow to debate how we will take the anti-austerity movement forward in the coming year. The best way we can honour their legacy is by uniting together in the fight for fairer and more just society.

If you still need to register your place, you can do so here: https://padelegateconf.eventbrite.co.uk

Please find the final conference documents below (printed copies will be available on the day):

  1. Final Conference Pack
  2. Final Motions Document
  3. Kent PA Proposed Motion on Funding (apologies, this was the very first motion submitted months ago but slipped through the net).

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and to a day of constructive and inspiring discussions.

In solidarity,

The People’s Assembly Against Austerity
